JOB REQUIREMENTS: Diagnose, adjust, repair, or overhaul buses and trucks, or maintain and repair any @type of diesel engines. Includes mechanics working primarily with automobile or marine diesel engines. Position Summary: Repairs and services the mechanical, electrical, and other components of a tractor using hand tools, power tools, welders, and/or any other testing or repair equipment necessary. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Determines necessary mechanical, electrical, or other areas that need repair to meet the customer\'s expectations 2. Performs Preventative Maintenance in accordance with company procedures Diagnoses and repairs truck breakdowns. Be able to repair and rebuild engines 4. Performs repairs to transmission, driveline, and differentials 5. Performs repairs to engine accessory components 6. Correctly completes all forms, timecards, parts requests, or any other documents associated with repairs 7. Represents Quality Truck Care Center in a professional manner, remaining friendly and courteous in all customer and coworker interactions. 8. Wears proper personal protective equipment to protect from injury. 9. Keeps work areas clean and free of clutter. 10. Stays current with technical literature. 11. Performs other duties as assigned Rewire ignition systems, lights, and instrument panels. Recondition and replace parts, pistons, bearings, gears, and valves. Rebuild gas or diesel engines. Raise trucks, buses, and heavy parts or equipment using hydraulic jacks or hoists. Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery. Measure vehicle emissions to determine whether they are within acceptable limits. Maintain or repair vehicles with alternative fuel systems, including biodiesel, hybrid, or compressed natural gas vehicles. Adjust or repair computer controlled exhaust emissions devices. Adjust and reline brakes, align wheels, tighten bolts and screws, and reassemble equipment. Diagnose and repair vehicle heating and cooling systems. Examine and adjust protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices. Disassemble and overhaul internal combustion engines, pumps, generators, transmissions, clutches, and differential units. Inspect and verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to factory specifications. Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition. Inspect, repair, and maintain automotive and mechanical equipment and machinery such as pumps and compressors. Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers, motor analyzers, chassis charts, and pressure gauges. Install or repair accessories. Specialize in repairing and maintaining parts of the engine, such as fuel injection systems. Test drive trucks and buses to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly. Use handtools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, lathes, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists. Attach test instruments to equipment, and read dials and gauges to diagnose malfunctions. Align front ends and suspension systems. Repair or adjust seats, doors, or windows. ** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Required Qualifications: 1. High school diploma or equivalent 2.
