Position Overview

At C&S we are seeking energetic, motivated interns to join our growing organization. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone interested in gaining hands on experience in the workplace. As an Intern at C&S, you will gain real world experience through interesting, challenging and meaningful work while contributing to the bottom line. You will have the opportunity to network with other interns and C&S employees, learn about different areas of the business and develop professionally. We'll teach you how to excel across areas such as: human resources, sales, marketing, finance, procurement, information technology and operations. With that in mind, we have created an internship program to coach, mentor, and develop individuals through experiential learning where they can directly apply content learned in the classroom.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

Assist in daily operations and administrative tasks within the assigned department.

Support the preparation of presentations, reports, and other documentation.

Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance efficiency.

Attend meetings, take notes, and contribute ideas and insights.

Aid in further enhancing department tools, templates and methodologies

Gain exposure and knowledge on department functionalities

Develop positive professional relationships across departments

Complete special projects as assigned by your manager

Complete an end-of-internship presentation to showcase the completion of learning objectives

Work in the Artificial Intelligence /Machine Learning function within Enterprise Data & Innovation team to assist in building, training, and testing machine learning models to address specific business problems

Conduct data cleaning, preprocessing, and exploratory analysis to support model development

Utilize GCP BigQuery, Vertex AI, CloudRun, DataProc, and other tools to complete projects

Collaborate with data engineers, senior data scientists, and BI / Data Analytics teams to deliver end-to-end data solutions

Compensation: 23/hr

Full-time, 12+ week internship from May to August

Location: Edison, NJ Office with a hybrid schedule

We're searching for interns that are:

Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree program from an accredited university

In good academic standing with a GPA of 3.0 or better

Sophmore standing at the time of the internship

Currently majoring in Data Science

Proficient with Google's suite of products preferred

Proficient with Excel required

Strong communicator, both written and verbal

Able to think outside of the box and solve problems

Able to work both with a team and be independently successfully

Able to stay organized and pay close attention to detail

Note: Applicants for employment in the US must have work authorization that does not now or potentially at any point in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States and with C&S Wholesale Grocers (i.e., H1-B visa, F-1 visa (OPT/CPT), TN visa or any other non-immigrant status).
