About the Indiana Office of Technology (IOT):
The Indiana Office of Technology provides cost-effective, secure, consistent, reliable enterprise-technology services to our partner agencies so they can better serve our mutual customer, the Hoosier taxpayer. IOT will also act as the technology and solution enabler for the State, helping its partner agencies achieve business objectives and innovation.
Salary:
This position traditionally starts at an annual salary of $93,002 but may be commensurate with education and job experience.

A Day in the Life:
Carrier Strategy & Network Planning
Evaluate and integrate diverse technologies (fiber, satellite, wireless).
Maintain the Carrier Support Information spreadsheet with escalation contacts and processes.
Update internal teams when carriers change procedures or contact paths.
Escalation Point for Carrier Issues
Serve as the escalation contact when the NOC or network team faces delays in circuit repairs or ticket handling.
Validate that escalation paths are being followed and engage carrier account teams directly.
Track progress to ensure timely updates and resolution.
Circuit & Project Lifecycle Management
Oversee circuit orders from initiation through installation, migration, and disconnect.
Coordinate with agency project managers to align timelines and deliverables.
Ensure smooth execution of moves, adds, changes, and break/fix requests.
Structured Cabling Oversight
Lead a team of wiring experts to scope and manage agency moves, remodels, and expansions.
Ensure vendors deliver high-quality installations that meet State standards.
Oversee break/fix activities to minimize downtime.
Carrier Relationship Management
Maintain regular meetings (weekly/bi-weekly) with major carriers (e.g., Spectrum, Comcast, Brightspeed, AT&T, Frontier, Sparklight, Zayo).
Track ongoing projects and provide updates to internal teams and agencies.
Push for SLA credits for approved outages to reduce agency costs.
Drive post-incident reviews and service improvements.
Budget & Cost Optimization
Lead monthly budget tracking and forecasting for all carrier services.
Identify cost-saving opportunities and negotiate favorable contracts.
Agency Engagement
Build strong relationships with agency stakeholders to ensure service expectations are met.
Oversee coordination of incoming tickets, project requests, and agency initiatives.
What You'll Need for Success:
Credentials:
a Bachelor's Degree and 1+ year of experience in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, or
an Associate's Degree and 3+ years of experience in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, or
at least 5+ years of relevant experience in Information Technology or a related field, applying the below, outlined knowledge, skills, and abilities in a similar role.
Related certifications and coursework may be considered for education or experience.

Ability to effectively give feedback, provide guidance or corrective action, coach, and develop employee skillsets.
