Summary The Chief, Veterans Transportation Service, is in the Office of the Associate Director for Operations and reports to senior members of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) comprised of the senior executives. Supervisory Mobility Transportation Specialist supervises and manages the Veterans Transportation Service, including the Supervisory Mobility Manager and Beneficiary Travel Specialist. Monitors the planning, coordination, and implementation of the Veterans Transportation Service. Responsibilities Include but not limited to: Solves complex issues regarding travel claims, mileage reimbursement claims, transportation contracts, emergent and non-emergent ambulance claims, manages dispatch teams. Assures matters related to resource allocation, program development, supervision, Fund Control Point management, interservice collaboration, community resource development with internal/external collaboration and analytical assessments. Serves as the primary point of contact, and responsible party for the Beneficiary Travel IPERA audit process and documentation. Responsible for comprehensive monitoring of the planning, coordination, and implementation of the Veterans Transportation Service. Interprets legislation and provides guidance to program staff. Advises and recommend courses of action to facility and market ELT, VISN transportation staff, and National VTP staff. Analyzes new technological trends and develops phased implementation plans after analyzing feasibility, costs, benefits, opportunities, and constraints.
