Summary Connectivity and Collaboration Services (CCS) engineers, installs, operates and maintains: core network transport, the corporate collaboration services, and voice, call center, and video that enables VA business partners and employees to deliver quality services to Veterans and their families. CCS "Connects everyone to everything." Responsibilities Major Duties: Serves as a supervisor and team manager for a national team, providing technical hardware and software support to VA facilities. Responsible for the full range of supervisory duties for individuals on the team. Evaluates the performance of subordinate personnel, proposes personnel actions, makes decisions on disciplinary actions, approves/disapproves leave, and formulates training plans for employees. Develops plans, policies, methodologies, and solutions that establish and support PIV. Analyzes and evaluates operational activities and determines changes needed in procedures and policies impacting PIV. Using VA enterprise IT goals and objectives, drafts targeted IT policies and plans in concert with VA technical staff and customers in support of PIV. Defines and manages the processes involved with the receipt, disposal, accuracy, and inventory of PIV IT assets. Assists in developing engineering processes, solutions, and implementation of software for the PIV system of systems. Participates as a representative at technical conferences, vendor meetings, professional organizations and/or other government agencies. Provides technical guidance to IT staff to resolve complex, programmatic and architectural PIV issues. Leads emergent assignments of a special or critical nature. Prepares briefing documents on high profile issues and makes presentations to senior managers; provides consultation and guidance to national-level VA officials on unusual, controversial or complex IT problems and assists in the development of guidelines, procedures and plans.
