Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team in Thousand Palms, California. In this long-term contract role, you will play a key role in managing financial processes, ensuring accuracy, and supporting administrative functions within the transport industry. This position offers a 9/80 work schedule and the opportunity to contribute to impactful projects.

Responsibilities:

Process and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions with precision.

Perform account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

Handle billing functions, including preparing and issuing invoices in a timely manner.

Support grant-related financial activities, including tracking and reporting as needed.

Utilize Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and maintaining financial records.

Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to deliver exceptional customer service.

Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to convey financial information.

Assist with administrative office tasks to maintain smooth operations.

Contribute to public sector projects and ensure compliance with financial regulations. Requirements - At least 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field, demonstrating attention to detail.

Proficiency in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and billing functions.

Strong skills in account reconciliation and general accounting processes.

Experience with administrative office tasks and providing customer service.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other tools within the Microsoft Office Suite.

Familiarity with grant management and public sector financial practices is preferred.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
