Construction Quality Manager

Join a dynamic team in building a brand new power plant in either Burlington, IA or Cedar Rapids, IA. As a Construction Quality Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the electrical inspection and quality assurance activities for this 760MW Simple Cycle power plant project featuring 3F class Siemens CT large engines. You will ensure that all construction activities comply with applicable codes, standards, and specifications.

This opportunity is to work on-site at one of two locations: Burlington or Cedar Rapids.

The role entails working on-site at the plant 5-6 days/week for the duration of the project, 5-7 years.

Responsibilities

Control and distribute all company quality documentation.

Monitor all quality-related activities on the project.

Perform daily inspections of the work being performed onsite.

Conduct all internal and external audits on behalf of the company's management.

Verify contractor quality requirements are specified to vendors and contractor documentation submittals.

Review quality inspection personnel qualifications and training requirements.

Monitor the disposition of all issued nonconformance reports.

Monitor the progress and effectiveness of the project quality management system and recommend improvements when required.

Review and provide comments on all quality-related correspondence with the contractor's representatives.

Monitor statistical method reporting.

Review all turnover documentation upon completion of the project.

Participate in all quality-related activities with designated representatives.

Attend monthly, weekly, and daily meetings to provide perspective on quality-related subjects when needed.

Essential Skills

5 years of experience in construction quality management, with construction experience preferred.

Strong attention to detail and conflict resolution skills.

Prior utility experience.

Ability to plan and perform highly complex operations with authority to make autonomous decisions.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.

Ability to work effectively in a diverse and inclusive environment.

Qualifications

Experience in construction management, power plant operations, engineering, and contractor oversight.

Knowledge of natural gas and LNG power plant operations.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $55.00/hr.
