Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and collaborative Cloud Solutions Architect to join our team onsite in Richmond, VA. This role involves working closely with data and development teams to design, implement, and optimize Azure-based cloud solutions that support advanced analytics and secure data access across agencies. We can pay $55-65.00 an hour depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement optimal Azure cloud solutions.
Develop technical documentation, strategies, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, and charts to demonstrate solutions.
Provide guidance, thought leadership, and mentorship to the team to strengthen cloud competencies.
Execute technical efforts under the direction of lead architects to design, build, and deploy Azure applications, including large-scale data processing and statistical modeling.
Ensure application performance, uptime, and scalability while maintaining high standards of code quality and architectural design.
Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle: planning, requirements gathering, development, testing, and quality assurance.
Manage Identity and Access Management (IAM) for the customers Azure environment to ensure secure and compliant data access.
Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, implement fixes, and document preventive measures.
Stay current with emerging technologies and vendor offerings; evaluate and recommend solutions as needed.
Partner closely with business analysts, developers, data scientists, and subject-matter experts to deliver impactful solutions.

Skills and Requirements
-Extensive experience in Azure, migrating and managing a organizations Azure environment.
-Strong understanding of Security, firewalls, Networking, Access Control, Blob storage, Resource Groups, NSG, SQL Server, SQL DB, etc.
-Experience running a full cloud infrastructure - Proven track record in migrating, configuring, and managing enterprise-level Azure environments.
Hands-on experience with Azure services including compute, storage, networking, and identity management.
Ability to optimize cloud architecture for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
Demonstrated ability to run and maintain full-scale cloud infrastructure in Azure.
Experience with provisioning, monitoring, and maintaining cloud resources across multiple subscriptions and tenants.
Familiarity with automation tools and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using tools like ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform.
Strong understanding of Azure security best practices including firewall configurations, Network Security Groups (NSGs), and role-based access control (RBAC).
Experience managing Identity and Access Management (IAM) to ensure secure and compliant data access.
Knowledge of encryption, data protection, and secure connectivity across hybrid environments.
Proficiency in configuring and managing Azure networking components such as virtual networks, subnets, VPN gateways, and ExpressRoute.
Experience with Blob storage, Azure Files, and other storage solutions including lifecycle management and access policies.
Ability to troubleshoot network performance issues and implement resilient architectures.
Experience with Azure SQL Server and SQL Database services including provisioning, performance tuning, and backup strategies.
Understanding of data migration strategies and integration with analytics platforms.
Skilled in organizing and managing Azure Resource Groups for logical grouping and lifecycle management.
Familiarity with tagging strategies, policies, and cost management tools to maintain governance and visibility.
Ability to mentor and guide teams in cloud adoption and technical implementation.
Strong documentation skills including architecture diagrams, flowcharts, and technical strategy papers.
