About the Work Unit
This work unit provides administrative and program support for the Colorado State Patrol Body
worn camera (BWC) and Digital Evidence Video Systems (DVES) program(s) operations.
About the Job
This position provides day-to-day operational support to the agency regarding DVES and body-worn cameras. Duties may include but are not limited to; program and administrative tasks, installation of equipment, troubleshooting operational issues, training members, and quality control.
Work Environment
100% in-person, Office, Typical work hours, Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
Travel will be required during work hours to various office and troop locations around the state.
Key Responsibilities
DVES/Body-worn Camera Technical Support
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for the program support of the Digital Evidence Video System (DVES) and body-worn cameras for the Colorado State Patrol. Maintains the inventory of video/camera equipment including in-car systems and body-worn cameras (BWC). Position performs technical and administrative law enforcement work pertaining to BWC for CSP. The position maintains and services the operation of the DVES in patrol vehicles and the BWC for CSP members. Operates video equipment and troubleshoots video equipment. Diagnoses, repairs, and/or replace both in-car camera equipment as well as body worn camera equipment. Works directly with vendors to provide support, as well as equipment returns and advanced replacements. Provides training on related camera systems to internal customers. Travels to various office and troop locations around the State to install and troubleshoot hardware/software. Recommends technology and equipment updates.
Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights

Minimum Qualifications
Three (3) years of full-time experience working with audio, video and/or digital media recording devices in software collection, review and storage and/or hardware installation, troubleshooting and maintenance.
OR
A combination of related education and/or full-time experience working with audio, video, and/or digital media recording devices in software collection, review and storage and/or hardware installation, troubleshooting and maintenance equal to three (3) years. If education is substituted for work experience, an unofficial transcript of the relevant education must be provided with your application.
Preferred Qualifications
Law enforcement agency experience.
Experience working with car camera systems and/or body worn cameras.
Previous video and/or camera equipment maintenance and troubleshooting experience.
Video and/or camera software and/or hardware installation, maintenance, troubleshooting experience.
Previous experience working with evidence management software.
Required Competencies
Strong computer skills.
Exceptional communication, multitasking and organizational skills.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Conditions of Employment
Must be Colorado resident at the time of application.
Requires successful completion of a background investigation that includes a polygraph exam, a fingerprint based criminal history search, driving history and drug testing.
Current valid driver's license at time of hire, and must obtain a Colorado-issued driver's license within 6 months of hire.
Appointed candidate must be able to travel extensively throughout Colorado to service in-car and body-worn cameras.
