Summary Distribution Facilities Specialist provides administrative and operational support for receiving, storing, handling, issuing supplies, materials, and equipment. Expedites movement of supplies and materials in production facilities. Perform full range of warehouse functions as principal receiver. Works with high degree of independence in determining sequences of loading/unloading, developing space utilization plans, and implementing movement of materials from dock to storage in automated areas. Responsibilities Assists the Supervisory Inventory Management Specialist (Logistics Manager) in a variety of projects that may occur routinely or non routinely. Coordinates with Inventory Management Specialists, Purchasing Agents, or Supply Technicians to resolve all item discrepancies such as overages, shortages, short dating, damaged goods, shipping errors, etc. Processes receiving reports promptly after receipt to ensure payment to vendor in a timely manner. Monitors established supply systems and programs. Provides supply information, reports, and services. Replenishes to appropriate stock levels utilizing the Generic Inventory Package (GIP). Unloads incoming shipments, verifies receipts, matches shipping documents, and receipts. Develops space plans and coordinates schedules of deliveries. Has a working knowledge of the physical distribution functions of a warehouse such as material receiving, storage, issuing, and preservation. Establishes procedures to prevent damage to product or hazard to employees. Performs routine audits to validate receipts of items are accurate and accounted for. Serves as a member of a team of receivers involved in special projects. Compile, analyze and summarize information relating to supply requirements. Utilize software applications as they pertain to automated procurement programs and inventory managements systems.
