Position Overview
EMCOR Hyre Electric Co. of Indiana, Inc. seeks motivated candidate to perform entry level technical responsibilities. Provide technical assistance to computer users. Answer questions or resolve computer problems for employees. May provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, electronic mail and operating systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assists IT Manager with hardware and software configuration as well as device and printer set up remotely and on-site. Eventually, the IT Assistant will be required to take the lead on these tasks.
Network printer setup
Learn quickly and can work independently while apprising IT Manager of concerns or issues where assistance needed.
Answer user inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operations to resolve problems.
Oversee the daily performance of computer systems.
Read technical manuals, confer with users, or conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems or to provide technical assistance and support.
Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software.
Develop training materials and procedures or train users in the proper use of hardware or software.
Communicates respectfully and effectively with management and co-workers.
Occasionally required to perform accurate data entry.
Application & Windows troubleshooting (remote/on-site)
Workstation imaging
Active Directory account unlocks/password resets
Updating Active Directory/Entra information
Endpoint Software installation/patching
Desktop computer support
Address user tickets regarding hardware, software and networking (troubleshoot networking issues, software conflicts, hardware issues, process user moves and changes)
Guide users with step-by-step instructions (help create technical documentation and manuals)
Follow up with internal customers to ensure workstations are functional (validate the mounted drives are available, printer services are working, email is available)
Conduct remote troubleshooting (ask targeted questions to diagnose problems, Test alternative solutions until issue is resolved, direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel, record technical issues and solutions in logs)
Mobile device support
Mobile phone configuration (assign phone to specific user, configure email, deploy required applications, set device security)
Tablet configuration (assign tablet to specific user, configure required applications, device security)
Mobile device management (validate devices in the system, push new applications to user devices as they become available, push application updates as needed, maintain device security)
Asset inventory management
Enter new equipment into tracking system database (receives equipment, deploys asset tag, records equipment specifications and serial numbers)
Retires out of date equipment securely (retires equipment from the asset database, stores equipment securely until ready for proper disposal)
Ensures asset recovery upon employee departure (collaborate with managers/HR to recover assets in a timely fashion, determine who gets access to departed employee data, determine status of email, updates asset status in tracking system, securely stores asset for next use)
Computer setup
Computer imaging (use of MDT to apply the current image, using the computer naming standard, creation of the user account and accesses)
Software installation (install user specific software per user manager instructions)
Email setup (coordinate with EMCOR to create user email database)
Application & Windows troubleshooting (remote/on-site)
Workstation imaging
PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree or Technical Training in Information Technology preferred. (High School diploma or GED required)
Experience as a Desktop Support Technician or similar role
BSc in Computer Science or relevant field or equivalent work experience a plus.
Demonstrated Windows computer skills/experience.
Able to work scheduled work hours.
Valid driver's license

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to commute to field locations. The employee must have the ability to navigate around job site locations.
