Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Melbourne, Florida. This Contract-to-Permanent position offers an exciting opportunity for growth, to contribute to critical accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance activities. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in full-cycle accounting and a proactive approach to process improvement.

Responsibilities:

Perform daily, monthly, and annual reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, accounts receivable deposits, and balance sheet accounts.

Oversee the accounts payable cycle, including invoice review, approval validation, payment processing, and vendor record maintenance.

Prepare journal entries, accruals, and supporting schedules to ensure timely monthly and annual close processes.

Assist in the preparation and review of financial statements, departmental expense reports, and variance analyses.

Support budgeting and forecasting efforts by compiling data and conducting variance analysis.

Manage full-cycle accounting operations for smaller affiliated entities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.

Develop and enforce accounting policies while ensuring compliance with GAAP and organizational standards.

Allocate departmental costs to appropriate cost centers, ensuring accuracy in expense coding and reporting.

Collaborate with internal and external auditors by providing schedules, documentation, and detailed explanations during audits.

Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes, policies, and internal controls.

Requirements - Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in full-cycle accounting.

Proficiency in month-end and annual close processes, including journal entry preparation and reconciliation.

Strong knowledge of GAAP and compliance standards.

Experience with financial statement preparation and analysis.

Proficiency in accounting software such as Oracle, QuickBooks Enterprise, and QuickBooks Pro.

Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with other Microsoft Office applications.

Demonstrated ability to manage accounts payable processes and vendor relationships.

Strong analytical skills with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning and analysis (FP& A).
