Description

We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in Charlton, Massachusetts. This role involves overseeing essential accounting and financial operations to ensure accuracy and efficiency in daily processes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities:

Perform daily general accounting tasks, including journal entries and accruals.

Prepare and reconcile monthly accounts to ensure financial accuracy.

Manage bank reconciliations and oversee daily cash applications.

Handle collections and invoicing processes efficiently.

Execute cash disbursements such as checks and wires.

Generate monthly financial statements for internal review.

Provide backup support for payroll functions.

Monitor inventory control and assist with weekly cash and working capital forecasting.

Support annual audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations.

Prepare monthly and quarterly sales and use tax filings.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.

A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting with a strong focus on detail.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft applications.

Strong skills in research and financial analysis.

Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.

Experience with accounting software, such as QuickBooks (Fishbowl experience is a plus).

Knowledge of corporate tax, sales tax, and general ledger processes.

Ability to accurately prepare and manage journal entries and corporate tax returns.
