Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Sturbridge, Massachusetts. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where organizational growth and financial accuracy are key priorities. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting skills and a commitment to maintaining precision in all financial transactions.

Responsibilities:

Process accounts payable transactions with accuracy and timeliness.

Manage accounts receivable functions, including invoicing and payment tracking.

Prepare and record journal entries to ensure proper documentation of financial activities.

Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to ensure all accounts are balanced.

Assist in completing special accounting projects as assigned.

Support month-end and year-end closing processes.

Collaborate with other departments to address financial inquiries.

Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies. Requirements - Proven experience in processing journal entries and maintaining general ledger accounts.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards.

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred.

Prior experience in a similar role is a plus.
