This role requires a proficient understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) laws, regulations and ethical standards. Key skills include strong analysis, experience with writing policies, technology, compliance tools and AI governance platforms, and collaboration across technical, data privacy and legal teams.
What You'll Do
Monitor and analyze the evolving AI regulatory and policy landscape (domestic and international), including legislative proposals, regulatory guidance, case laws, and enforcement actions.
Use AI tools for horizon scanning to detect upcoming legislation, enforcement actions, and regulatory trends.
Translate complex regulatory and technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance.
Advise on the legal and ethical implications of AI technologies by evaluating the relevant AI technology.
Establish mechanisms for ongoing monitoring of AI compliance practices.
Collaborate and liaise with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate potential compliance risks associated with AI initiatives. Develop strategies and frameworks to mitigate these risks while promoting innovation and compliance.
Work with peers to design and use AI RH systems in compliance with relevant AI laws and regulations and Company policies.
Be responsible for and participate in the drafting and publication of Company AI Policies.
Participate and facilitate in AI Steering Committee and prepare Agenda for each meeting.
Create technological and manual, when necessary, processes for the review AI use cases by the Company.
Help develop or license and use AI tools and machine learning to detect compliance risks and anomalies.
Apply predictive analytics to forecast potential compliance issues and recommend preventive actions.
Use AI systems to monitor data streams and transactions in real time.
Maintain an obligation library to map and manage compliance requirements across jurisdictions.
Integrate AI tools for automating compliance tasks like due diligence, KYB (Know Your Business), and alert monitoring.
Facilitate cross-functional meetings to align on AI governance priorities and risk mitigation strategies.
Design and deliver training on AI regulations, ethical standards, and internal governance policies.
Tailor content of training for different audiences (e.g., data scientists, legal teams, executives) to ensure relevance and engagement.
Lead initiatives to promote responsible AI use across the organization.
Develop in collaboration with L&D for educational materials such as newsletters, infographics, and videos to highlight key compliance topics.
Organize events like AI ethics workshops, webinars, and panel discussions.
Educate teams on compliance requirements and ethical AI use.
Track training completion and effectiveness through feedback and performance metrics.
Maintain records of awareness campaigns and stakeholder engagement efforts.
Foster a culture of compliance through clear communication and collaboration.
Coordinate post-incident reviews and ensure lessons learned are captured and shared.
Serve as the Company primary expert and one of the primary points of contact for AI compliance matters.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of AI models, data sources, risk assessments, and control testing.
Document model development, validation, and deployment processes.
Track model performance, bias testing, explainability assessments, and version control.
Document AI-related incidents, including data breaches, model failures, or ethical concerns.
Prepare compliance reports for leadership, highlighting risks, gaps, and recommendations.
Work with EIS GRC to maintain documentation for audits and regulatory reviews.
Highlight key compliance metrics, risk trends, audit findings, and remediation progress.
Ensure audit trails are complete and accessible for internal and external audits.
Develop dashboards and executive summaries for senior leadership and the board.
Align internal policies with evolving AI regulations and ethical standards.
Monitor and update policies to reflect regulatory changes and internal risk assessments.
Communicate updates to AI-related policies and procedures promptly and clearly.
Maintain up-to-date records of AI governance policies, standard operating procedures, and control frameworks.
Ensure documentation reflects the latest regulatory requirements and internal standards.
What You'll Need
A law degree and to be a member of at least one state bar. IAPP AI Governance. Certification and requires 4-6 years of overall Privacy experience, with 5 of years focused on AI.
Basic understanding of data analytics, machine learning concepts, and the ability to work with AI platforms/systems.
Robust knowledge of relevant AI legal precedents, statutes, contract law, and regulatory compliance.
The ability to interpret complex legal documents and apply critical thinking in light of AI-driven findings.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary for articulating the implications of AI findings to clients or stakeholders.
Problem-solving, adaptability, and ethical judgment are crucial, as AI applications in law often present novel scenarios beyond traditional legal training.
Change management and continuous learning mindset.

The typical annual salary range for this position is shown below and is negotiable depending upon experience and location. The position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus.
$144,000.00 - $219,000.00
