What you will do:
The Hot Section Module Center (HSMC) is seeking a data scientist to join our Digital Transformation (DTx) team in improving the way the organization uses data. The team cuts across functional areas, supporting stakeholders across the business by providing digital products and analytics that increase the velocity of information flow within the organization and enabling access to advanced analytics where needed. Our team is looking for members who are curious and enthusiastic about data, analytics, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
Work with stakeholders across functional areas to understand key processes, data sources, and requirements.
Conduct exploratory analysis of business and manufacturing process data, focusing on our most challenging and complex datasets.
Develop, test, deploy, and validate statistical models
Work closely with the Digital Technology team to ensure data infrastructure meets organizational needs
Create documentation and standard work for deployed models.
Qualifications you must have:
Bachelor's degree in quantitative field (computer science, engineering, mathematics, etc)
5+ years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 3+ years of experience
Demonstrated practical experience with SQL and Python
Demonstrated practical experience building and deploying statistical models
Strong communication skills
Curiosity and creativity
U.S. citizenship required due to government contracts
Qualifications we prefer:
Experience with time series data
Experience with SAP and Solumina
Experience with Power BI
Experience with Git
Experience with Databricks
Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing and shop-floor environments
Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies like Six Sigma
Familiarity with Operations Research
Familiarity with change management principles

This role is:
Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.
The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
