Apply Mechanical, Electrical, Automation skills and knowledge to support the development and improvement of state-of-the-art automation equipment.

Day-to-Day Responsabilities

Work alongside technology development and engineering teams in the design of automation and mechanical equipment by creating CAD drawings and models.

Support the integration of new Control systems equipment such as HMIs and Vision systems.

Deliver design solutions and write technical reports for completed work to capture insights.

Use 3d printers to create functional proto@types and assist with machine assembly

Requirements

Minimum of 2+ years working toward a Bachelor's Degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering. Preference is for students who will have completed their 3rd year of a BS level college engineering program prior to starting the internship and will be graduating within 12 months of finishing the internship.

Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2026 (May-August 2026) with a graduation date of December 2026 or later

Be interested in working for Corning, Inc after graduation, if presented with a full-time job opportunity.

Be willing to work at the posted job location

Required Skills

Solid understanding of mechanical principles and strong design skills

Computer literacy and experience with data analysis tools

Ability to analyze machine, equipment, process data to uncover insights and make design decisions

Strong problem-solving skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively present information

Result-oriented, takes strong initiative, and able to work well both independently and in a team environment

Organizational skills and the ability to build relationships and interact with all levels of the organization

?The range for this position is $1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly. Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
