Summary
You will serve as a Supervisory Quality Assurance Specialist (Shipbuilding) in the Contract Oversight Quality Assurance Division, of the Quality Assurance Office of Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS & IMF).
Duties
Help
You will direct execution of the Contract Administration Quality Assurance Program that significantly affects the mission of the entire shipyard.
You will be responsible for the review and approval process of contractor submitted procedures, ensuring technical and quality requirements are met.
You will coordinate the resolution of quality issues between the government and the contractor's management.
You will review workload and technical demands and adjust ceiling and personnel assignments as required.
You will plan and oversee training and program implementation to develop and maintain Quality Assurance personnel capabilities.
You will evaluate skill inventories and workload records to assure optimum balance of resources.
You will participate in, and lead team investigations into especially urgent or complex problems.
You will maintain liaison with systems commands, warfare centers, Fleet commands for coordination of effort and mutual support in resolution of technical and logistics problems affecting reliability of systems installed in the Fleet.

This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). You must be certified as a Career Field H Level III. Certification is required within 24 months of appointment.
This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing guidance and direction in quality assurance analysis, concepts, methods, developments, operating principles and execution of contract administration for a major program (i.e. major ship availability, ship modernization program, and preservation systems).
