Job Summary and Qualifications
As the Senior Manager Strategic Sourcing, you will be responsible for negotiating industry leading agreements for their assigned member in the area of PPI and Custom Contracting. This role owns the contract portfolio and ensuring strategic sourcing resources are prepared, aligned and appropriately focused to departmental goals. This role will assist the Director of Strategic Sourcing to actively create and maintain strategic alliances with key stakeholders, both internally and externally, to innovate and cultivate contracting opportunities for the IDN facilities. In addition, you will actively collaborate with the team to develop synergies between contracting and utilization analytic activities, create alignment, and customization of physician preference items to meet local needs.
Major Responsibilities:
Responsible for negotiating industry leading agreements in the area of PPI and Medical Devices to ensure best in class industry pricing and contract terms and conditions.
Position's key area of focus will be sourcing initiatives in categories with medium to high complexity, risk and sensitivity. Individual will own the negotiation of a portfolio in the spend range of >$100M annually. Position may have some responsibility for other @types of categories for the purposes of development and workload allocation
Demonstrates a thorough understanding and accountability for the sourcing process for their assigned portfolio. Individuals are responsible for the sourcing process for their assigned portfolio. The process includes market research, strategy development, RFI/RFP/Bid preparation, contract negotiations (pricing and terms), gaining consensus on award decisions, and launching the contracts.
Responsible for presenting contract strategies and final award recommendations to internal stakeholders
This position will identify potential risks, challenges, and opportunities of the category. In addition, they must understand member needs/requirements. The individual is responsible for developing the contracting strategy that will mitigate risks, address member needs, and maximize the best outcome.
Ability to independently plan and execute project timelines for assigned categories. Must maintain and keep accurate the contracting work plan and contracting details in the Contract Lifecycle Management system.
Oversee supplier relationship during the sourcing process.
Resolve supplier and/or customer issues, as escalated.
Maintain strong customer relationships and build trust and respect by consistently meeting or exceeding customer expectations. Customers are internal and external.
Leverage strong analytical skills with the ability to create or interpret potentially complex financial models
Maintain grace under pressure while displaying a high level of professionalism
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Healthcare, Business, Finance, or related, required.
3+ years experience strategic sourcing or contract management, required.
Relevant experience in the healthcare setting, preferred.
Experience with PPI and Med Device categories is a plus!
