Responsibilities Conducts detailed analyses and provides uniform and comprehensive methods for collection and presentation of financial and statistical data. Performs the application of accounting and finance principles, theories, concepts, and practices to ensure that financial management and accounting systems produce accurate results and meet legal and regulatory requirements. Evaluates finance and accounting services and processes or to recommend new processes. Reconciles a variety of reports, vouchers, and supporting financial documents, makes input to various automated systems as necessary and assists with the resolution of problems. Works with computer specialists to develop, implement, and modify accounting and financial management systems to meet the organizational needs. Analyzes output for reliability and accuracy and for the effects of actions on other accounting and finance systems. Specialized experience at the GS-09 level is defined as: Researching and interpreting financial regulations, policies and laws to provide substantive recommendations and advice to managers; analyzing and evaluating reports and data from financial systems to identify issues and discrepancies; and researching and interpreting financial policies and laws to resolve financial issues. To be hired at the GS-11 grade level, applicants must minimally have: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the federal service performing complex data analysis and evaluation of financial systems, policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure the continuity of a financial system's operations. Specialized experience at the GS-11 level is defined as: Analyzes and evaluates financial management systems, public laws, governing policies, guidelines, rules, regulations, and precedents. Provides advisory services to management in relationship to performance assessments and keeps them informed of inconsistencies in work processes. Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement.
