MNIT DNR provides comprehensive IT operations and support services, custom application development, and dedicated support functions to an organization that manages and conserves the state's natural resources in a way that creates a sustainable quality of life for all Minnesotans.
As the IT Business Services Supervisor with Minnesota IT Services (MNIT) and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR), you will provide IT leadership and direction, and IT staff supervision to DNR's Division of Enforcement as well as the Fish and Wildlife Division's License Bureau. You will manage and maintain a portfolio of business applications, projects, and technical data stewardship activities through execution of and conformance with divisional IT Business Service Agreements (IT BSA). Within the @context of a consolidated IT structure, you will work closely with assigned DNR Division and MNIT DNR leadership to develop strategies and tactical implementation approaches to optimize IT service delivery that enhance business objectives in accordance with the Divisions and MNIT's Strategic Vision and Values.
This position requires an employee to be onsite at 500 Lafayette Rd, St. Paul, Minnesota at least 50% of the time, with some opportunity to perform work from a telework location. Minimum Qualifications
Position requires a minimum of three (3) years of experience supporting IT applications and databases in a production environment.
Experience must include:
Budget and contract management.
IT project management methodologies
Knowledge in project management processes such as change management, plan development, risk assessment, team building, time management, resource management, coaching and/or mentoring.
Conceptualize objectives and propose alternatives and implementation strategies. Employee must have ability to strategically evaluate choices, set priorities and translate ideas and concepts into workable proposals and advocate for them within the assigned division, department, and MNIT governance structures as necessary.
Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties.
Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications
Technical, human relations, communications, and supervisory skills. This includes administrative abilities and skills in work planning and organization, and knowledge of the principles of organizations, management, and administration.
Demonstrated written and communications skills with a variety of staff from end users to managers in order to achieve the desired results.
Experience working in a field related to natural resource management.
Experience directing the implementation and ongoing support of complex IT systems.
Experience managing IT application, project, and staff resource portfolios.
Experience developing strategies and tactical implementation approaches to optimize IT service delivery.
Experience aligning business requirements within the @context of IT standards and protocols.
