Job Description
The Corporate Compliance group within U.S. Bancorp Risk Management & Compliance is seeking a highly motivated self-starter with strong risk management skills and compliance experience to lead the Corporate Compliance Issue, Exam, and Audit team.
The U.S. Bank Corporate Compliance Issue, Exam, and Audit team oversees issue management processes, issue resolution oversight, exam and audit coordination, day-to-day regulatory interactions, and related activities. This position works closely with business-line issue coordinators, support functions, compliance risk specialists, and key stakeholders to ensure that issues are properly evaluated and remediated in alignment with the expectations of management and regulatory agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
· Manages the team responsible for Corporate Compliance regulatory engagement, risk identification, issue oversight and remediation, and project management.
· Coordinates regulatory exam and internal audit and review management program, including pre-engagement, initial and supplemental responses, management responses to identified concerns, and related tracking/reporting.
· Responsible for Compliance issue management program, including issue coordination (document and challenge resolution plans, verify/validate completion, document CPMA package, and assist through closure) and issue oversight responsibilities (ensure Compliance Risk Managers appropriately discharge their responsibilities).
· Performs or drives processes to support effective issue resolution activities, including issue identification, issue resolution, milestone development, status reporting, risk escalation, coordinating cross-business line activities including technology plans, documenting completion evidence and testing activities, drafting resolution memorandums, validating and verifying resolution steps, and related tasks.
· Partners with Business Line Issue Management teams to facilitate collaboration across the First and Second Lines of Defense on issues related to compliance risks.
· Provides oversight and/or support for Consent Orders commensurate with other issue expectations.
· Responsible for quality management framework for Compliance programs, including quality controls, key indicators, and quality assurance testing in support of issue and/or finding identification and related reporting.
· Responsible for root cause analysis and vetting processes for potential issue creation, resolution, and validation in accordance with issues management program.
· Manage staffing coverage for functions with fluctuating needs, including exam and issues management, regulatory change management, enforcement actions, risk management initiatives, examination preparation, and other program enhancements and functions where temporary support may be required.
· Ensure policies and procedures reflect best practices and meet evolving regulatory requirements.
· Other projects, as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
· Bachelor's or advanced degree, or equivalent work experience.
· Typically, more than 12 years of applicable experience.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
· Substantial experience in regulatory compliance activities, or equivalent work experience managing complex processes regarding legal or regulatory matters (such as litigation, project management, risk management, or audit).
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong presentation skills.
· Ability to research and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
· Proficiency in office applications; including word processing, PowerPoint, spreadsheets, and databases.
· Intermediate to advanced eGRC, or other comparable risk management tool platforms experience, strongly preferred.
· Substantial experience in regulatory compliance activities, or equivalent work experience managing complex processes regarding legal or regulatory matters (such as litigation or project management).
· Considerable knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends impacting large banks.
· Strong working knowledge of the Bank's Risk Management Framework, Issue Management Framework, and role of the three lines of defense.
· Advanced knowledge of government and regulatory laws and regulations; and supervisory oversight exercised by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), Federal Reserve Bank (FRB), and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), and other financial regulators.
· Thorough knowledge of U.S. Bancorp operations, policies, and procedures.
Advanced degree or certifications, including JD or MBA.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $149,515.00 - $175,900.00
