Description of Job
We are seeking a highly skilled HCL Notes developer with extensive experience in building, and supporting, new and existing HCL Notes/Domino applications. The successful candidate will be adept at designing, coding, and maintaining complex Notes applications with integrations to external systems with a focus on quality to ensure high system uptime and performance.
This role demands proficiency in both preventative maintenance and reactive support to guarantee seamless operation of all business applications. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate the ability to remain calm in high-stress, public-facing environments with frequent changes in direction. Similar to other LCS professional legislative staff, the successful candidate will work in a non-partisan manner.
The Colorado General Assembly is a small but high-profile state government department with approximately five hundred users including one hundred legislators. LIS provides computing, network and storage technology infrastructure, applications and systems support to all legislative staff, legislators, and others in the Capitol building. Within this unique organization, you will experience challenging work while directly contributing to the betterment of Colorado.
Employment @type, work authorization, and remote work
This is a full-time, salaried state employment, remote position, with occasional in-person attendance required for mandatory team meetings.

Salary and benefits
The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $110,000 per year, with salary level within this
range commensurate with education and experience. Legislative Council Staff employees are not members of the state personnel system.

About You
Education and experience requirements
You must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or at least 5+ years of equivalent practical experience.

Primary responsibilities
Your tasks and responsibilities in this position:
design, develop, and maintain complex HCL Notes/Domino applications,
do front-end development using XPages;
integrate Domino applications with other systems using HCL Enterprise Integrator (HEI);
perform troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning of existing Domino applications;
collaborate with product owners and business users to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications;
provide support for Domino server administration tasks, including database maintenance, user management, and security configurations;
participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards;
document technical designs, processes, and procedures;
provide excellent technical support with a focus on customer service;
identify, analyze, plan and advise using best practices on design and code improvements to meet business needs and improve maintainability;
proactive troubleshooting of issues to isolate and diagnose system problems; documenting system events to ensure uninterrupted functioning of critical applications;
collaborate across various technical and business teams;
constantly innovate: evaluate upcoming industry trends and implement as needed; and
work on various projects as assigned.
Technical knowledge, skills, and abilities
You must have demonstrable experience in varying degrees in the following areas:
extensive experience (5+ years preferred) in developing complex HCL Notes/Domino applications;
proven expertise in XPages development, including custom controls;
strong hands-on experience with HCL Enterprise Integrator (HEI) for data integration and workflow automation;
proficiency in LotusScript and Formula language;
familiarity with REST services and API integration in Domino;
experience with HCL Domino server administration, including:
database management (replication, compaction, fixup)
user and group management
security configurations (ACLs, server certificates)
troubleshooting server issues
server upgrades
experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) is a plus.
experience with tools such as Teamstudio developer tools, JIRA, confluence, etc.
