Job Title: Second Shift Site Manager
Job Description
The Second Shift Site Manager will provide on-site leadership and direction across all departments-Manufacturing, Warehouse, Maintenance, Quality, and Safety-during the second shift of our food manufacturing operation. This individual will oversee shift operations to ensure performance targets are met, regulatory and food safety compliance is maintained, and cross-functional coordination is seamless. This is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring product quality, plant efficiency, and a safe, productive workplace culture across all functions.
Responsibilities
Manage all second shift operations, ensuring alignment with daily and weekly production, warehouse, and maintenance goals.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory, GMP, food safety (HACCP, SQF), and sanitation standards across departments.
Supervise shift operations through direct oversight of department supervisors (production, maintenance, warehouse, quality) and indirect oversight of hourly teams.
Plan and execute labor and production schedules to meet customer demand while optimizing labor efficiency and minimizing downtime.
Monitor adherence to production formulations and batching instructions to meet product specifications.
Drive performance toward manufacturing KPIs (yield, throughput, waste, downtime, etc.) through daily management and problem-solving.
Ensure warehouse inventory is managed properly, including accurate receiving, storage, FIFO rotation, and material handling.
Coordinate and support execution of planned and unplanned maintenance; escalate critical equipment issues and ensure follow-through.
Champion a culture of safety by enforcing OSHA standards, plant safety policies, and conducting safety audits and observations.
Leverage tools such as Red Zone and other digital systems to log updates, track issues, and communicate progress across teams.
Lead or participate in daily shift handoff meetings and weekly KPI/continuous improvement meetings with cross-functional stakeholders.
Serve as the senior decision-maker on-site during the second shift, managing escalations and ensuring a high level of operational continuity.
Train, coach, and evaluate team members to foster engagement, performance, and adherence to company values.
Actively contribute to the site's HACCP team and other food safety initiatives.

Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
5+ years of leadership experience in a food manufacturing or related production/distribution environment
Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional teams in manufacturing, warehouse, maintenance, and quality
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Degree in Food Science, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred; ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
Familiarity with digital production systems such as Red Zone, ERP/WMS, and maintenance tracking tools
Demonstrated ability to drive team performance, manage multiple priorities, and lead through influence and accountability
Experience with production paperwork, batch records, and documentation requirements
Previous experience in fryer or thermal processing environments a plus

Work Environment
The position operates during the second shift with regular hours from 2:30-11pm, although flexibility is required to work from 2pm-12am as needed. Occasional Saturday work may be required. The role involves managing a team in a fast-paced, dynamic food manufacturing environment, where safety and quality are prioritized.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
