Starting Salary: $75,000-85,000 + Bonus

Robert Half is partnering with one of their clients on their recruitment efforts for a full-time, direct hire, Staff Accountant to join their team. In this role, you will oversee the preparation and maintenance of financial records for both our management company and affiliated charter school entities across multiple states. Working closely with the Chief Financial Officer and other team members, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial tracking, compliance with regulations, and effective collaboration with internal departments and school administrators. Job Overview:

A growing multi-entity organization is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their team. This role involves preparing and maintaining financial records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, generating accurate reports, and supporting key financial processes across multiple locations. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Staff Accountant will play a critical role in ensuring the organization's financial health and integrity. Candidates must demonstrate strong accounting knowledge, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.

Responsibilities:

Financial Management:

Maintain general ledger entries and perform bank reconciliations.

Accurately record, track, and reconcile financial transactions across multiple entities using accounting software.

Oversee fixed asset tracking and integrate records with financial systems.

Compliance Support:

Ensure adherence to federal, state, and organizational financial regulations.

Assist with setting up accounts and maintaining internal controls to protect assets.

Support tax compliance by preparing necessary documentation.

Reporting & Analysis:

Produce monthly financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.

Prepare audit-related documentation and support the audit process.

Assist with financial reporting for tax filings and government agencies.

Cross-Team Collaboration:

Work closely with various departments to streamline financial operations and improve processes.

Partner with payroll staff to reconcile payroll-related discrepancies and align general ledger activities.

Collaborate with budget managers to analyze grants and support year-end financial adjustments.

Requirements

Skills & Abilities:

Proficiency in accounting principles and practices (GAAP knowledge preferred).

Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with collaborative tools like Google Workspace.

Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is required.

Minimum of three years of accounting experience; exposure to fund accounting or multi-entity operations is a plus.

Experience with accounting software (Business Central preferred). Certifications such as CPA are ideal but not mandatory.
