Description We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in New York, New York. In this role, you will collaborate with the accounting department to ensure accurate reporting, reconciliation, and financial analysis. This position is ideal for someone proficient in Workday Financials and Excel, and who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Manage month-end close processes, including preparing journal entries and general ledger reconciliations.

Perform detailed account reconciliations to ensure data accuracy and compliance.

Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports to support decision-making processes.

Oversee daily reconciliations, including bank transactions and accounts receivable balances.

Utilize Workday ERP system to streamline accounting operations and generate reports.

Ensure all journal entries are accurately recorded and aligned with company policies.

Conduct financial analysis to identify trends and variances in the organization's accounts.

Collaborate with team members to improve operational efficiency and address discrepancies.

Support audit preparation and compliance activities as needed.

Maintain and update financial records using advanced Excel techniques. Requirements - Proven experience in accounting roles, including month-end close and reconciliations.

Proficiency in Workday Financials is mandatory.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data analysis.

Strong understanding of general ledger systems and journal entry preparation.

Familiarity with accounts receivable processes and daily reconciliation tasks.

Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a contract role.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
