Summary: As an HSE Field Technician, you will be responsible for supporting field operations by ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards. This includes responding to employee concerns, conducting audits, investigating incidents, facilitating safety training, and providing administrative support to field personnel. The role is both hands-on and consultative, requiring regular interaction with field crews and management.
Responsibilities/Duties:
Lead and participate intoolbox and safety meetings; communicate bulletins and key safety messages.
Prepare and deliverHSE trainingon various safety topics.
Maintain and update employee HSE records, includingincident reports and training files.
Investigate and support resolution ofincidents, accidents, near misses, and good catches.See, Say, Stop
Review and support development ofJob Safety Analyses (JSAs)and ensure they are effectively implemented.
Track and follow through onaction items, concerns, and corrective measures.
Represent ATS atcontractor safety meetingsand build relationships with external safety stakeholders.
Coach, mentor, and conduct safety evaluations of field personnel.
Performfacility inspections and evaluationsto ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Supportincident notification processesto internal and external stakeholders.
Coordinatesite evacuationsand participate in post-event critiques.
Assist withpolicy development, implementation, and cascadingof safety procedures and best practices.
Support management intracking remedial actionsto prevent recurrence of safety incidents.
Stay up to date withOSHA, PSM, and other applicable HSE regulations and standards.
Act as aliaison between field crews and safety management,helping operations fulfill their HSE responsibilities.
Providedirection and supervision to other HSE team members,as required.
Regularly accompany field crews to better understand job site hazards and conditions.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of industry experience , preferably in heavy industrial or NDE environments.
Academic or practical background inSafety and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)is highly desirable.
Certification in safety (e.g.,CHST, STS, OSHA 30, or equivalent) is strongly preferred.
Previous experience in alead technician or supervisory safety roleis an asset.
Strong knowledge ofOSHA regulations, includingProcess Safety Management (PSM).
Excellentorganizational, planning, and communication skills(both verbal and written).
Self-starter able to work independently, but also function effectively in a team.
Service-oriented mindset with a strong focus on supporting field operations.
Physically fit and able to work inadverse conditionsand respond to emergency situations.
Ability toobtain and maintain HSE credentialsrequired for job-specific training or compliance.
Be physicallyfitfor duty.
75-80% travel.

Work Conditions:
Field-based work involving exposure to varying weather conditions and potentially hazardous environments.
Requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to site-specific safety protocols.
Extensive travel to remote work sites and contractor facilities is required.
Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection.
