GTA Manager Experience (web) in my.walmart.com is a strategic initiative for FY26. We are aiming to complete a modernized manager web experience by Q3, enabling us to decommission the legacy GTA Portal and fully transition Workbrain into a headless architecture. We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to actively contribute to the delivery of this modern React-based experience for Walmart's U.S. store and facility managers.
Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with solid experience in full-stack development to help deliver high-quality, scalable applications. This role is ideal for an engineer ready to work on complex, high-impact systems, with a strong focus on implementation, testing, and collaboration.
As a Senior Engineer on the Wellbeing/GTA team, you'll build critical components of Walmart's associate-facing applications used by millions. You'll work within a cross-functional team to modernize legacy systems and integrate next-gen capabilities, including containerized web/mobile experiences and GenAI-driven enhancements.
What You'll Do
Contribute to the development of performant, secure, and scalable applications using React, Node.js, and Typescript.
Build and maintain features in a shared React Native container that supports both web and mobile platforms.
Migrate existing workflows from the legacy GTA Portal to a modern architecture with feature parity and improved UX.
Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and QA to build high-impact features and solve technical problems.
Participate in code reviews, design sessions, and Agile ceremonies.
Support testing, deployment, and monitoring of new functionality.
Implement automation and CI/CD best practices for faster, safer releases.
Contribute to the integration of GenAI features such as intelligent suggestions and productivity tooling.
Participate in on-call rotations as needed to support production environments.
What You'll Bring
5+ years of hands-on experience in software development.
Proficiency in JavaScript/Typescript and frameworks such as React and Node.js.
Familiarity with React Native and building cross-platform applications.
Experience working in modern DevOps environments (CI/CD, Git, containers, etc.).
Understanding of frontend/backend design patterns and web performance optimization.
Exposure to cloud-based architectures (Azure, GCP, or AWS preferred).
Experience contributing to system migrations or modernizations is a plus.
Willingness to learn and contribute to emerging technologies like GenAI.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Key Responsibilities in GTA Team: Manager Experience Delivery
Build Modern UI Components Develop key features of the new manager experience in React Native, targeting shared deployment across web and mobile platforms.
Support Migration from Legacy System Assist with converting key workflows from the legacy JSP-based GTA Portal into the new architecture with enhanced usability and performance.
Apply Container Strategy and Standards Use Walmart's container architecture to ensure alignment with platform best practices and integration guidelines.
Promote Code Quality and Automation Write clean, testable code and contribute to automated test coverage and CI/CD pipelines.
Contribute to GenAI Adoption Collaborate with senior engineers to explore and implement GenAI enhancements that improve UX or developer efficiency.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00
