Job Description
This position serves as the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Coordinator for the Michigan Department of Civil Rights (MDCR), as required by Section 6(1) of Act 442 of 1976. Position is responsible for ensuring that MDCR is in compliance with and reviewing interpreting, and applying federal and state FOIA laws, regulations, and policies. It is also responsible for processing of FOIA requests and ensuring that responses to FOIA requests comply with applicable laws and that regulations are appropriately addressed; resolving problems and questions related to FOIA; reviewing and signing FOIA denial letters; and serving as the department's liaison with the Office of Attorney General related to FOIA.

Paid Parental Leave:Eligible employees can take 12 weeks of paid leaveimmediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.
Paid Holidays:Eligible employees receive 13 or 14 paid holidays each year including New Year's Eve and Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Election Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving Friday, Christmas Eve and Day.
