Payroll Project Specialist
JOB SUMMARY
The Payroll Project Specialist is responsible for administering payroll functions, supporting compliance with established policies and procedures, and contributes to process improvements.
MAJOR DUTIES
Processes and confirms full-time payroll and part-time hourly and lump sum payroll;
Reviews payroll data for accuracy and enters payroll transactions/data into accounting system;
Reviews and/or reconciles payroll records. Identifies errors and makes corrections;
Performs limited general clerical responsibilities related to payroll functions;
Analyzes periodic reports and reconciles contents with other records;
Processes payroll void and hand drawn/adjustment requests;
Processes third-party requests involving employee pay- garnishments, levies, bankruptcies and child support wage assignments;
Refines processes between Human Resources and Financials;
Assists with preparing for transition to new Human Capital Management platform;
Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information;
Participates in assessment, planning, budgeting, and staff development; and
Other duties as assigned.

Skill in interpersonal relations and effective problem solving methods
Skill in analyzing data and situations for accurate assessment
Knowledge of the college philosophy and objectives as they relate to performance
Knowledge of personnel management practices, budget and accounting practices, assessment and accreditation principles and issues and trends in higher education
Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree and Three (3) years of related work experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
In addition to the minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
Experience in TeamWorks HCM and Financials
Knowledge of Technical College System of Georgia policies and procedures
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Hourly
Salary commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience
Ineligible for benefits
