Hubbard Broadcasting Inc., is the parent company of several media companies including Hubbard Television, Hubbard Radio, REELZ, F&F Productions and 2060 Digital. Based in St. Paul, MN, this family-run business has been in operations for nearly 100 years.

Job Overview

This 6 month position will assist Corporate Accounting in a variety of accounting tasks. The accounting intern will be exposed to multiple functional areas such as Fixed Assets, Accounts Payable, and the General Ledger.

Job Responsibilities

Fixed Asset Setup, Maintenance, and posting month end entries

Vendor setup adhering to established corporate guidelines

Processing Accounts Payable invoices ensuring accuracy in coding, proper approvals are compliant with corporate policy, and vendor payments are made within vendor terms

Accounts Payable Check Runs

Year End 1099 Preparation and submittal to IRS

General ledger reconciliations

Intercompany Billings

Other duties as assigned

What You'll Gain:

Qualifications

Must be enrolled in an accredited college receiving university or college credit for the internship or experiential learning requirement towards graduation. Will need to provide proof from the institution.

Must be in good academic standing

Available to work in the office at 10-15 hours per week

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong computer skills. Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to take direction well

Organizational and problem solving skills

Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with a variety of individuals in person, over the telephone and email.

Must meet tight deadlines and work well in fast-paced, pressure situations.

Record of being entrusted with and having successfully safeguarded significant private and confidential information.

This position is subject to a pre-employment criminal background and consumer financial history background check. Background check information will be used in a confidential, non-discriminatory manner consistent with state and federal law.

Physical requirements

Communicate in English both verbally and in writing.

Read, hear, and speak clearly.

Prepare and generate reports and business correspondence.

Manipulate computer keys and general office equipment, including computer and telephone for extended periods of time.

Think logically and analytically and articulate information that may be complex in clear, concise manner to others.

Quick and clear thinking required.

Ability to gather and organize large amounts of data and search for patterns and connections.

Average sitting and standing.

Some bending, pushing and pulling.
