Qualified candidates will start at a minimum salary of $77,968.80 and will be eligible for a monthly phone stipend.
The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location.
This position is on-site at our Seattle, Washington location.
Position Summary
The Assistant Operation Manager is responsible for the oversight of assigned WPS Operations. The key objective of the position will be to learn the business at all levels of the operation and to help the Division to achieve improved operational and business plan goals. Reduction of waste, improved labor ratios and increased production are expectations aligned with this position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Review daily work orders and Dispatch work orders to contactors and workers.
Store shipments properly and efficiently
Submit paperwork for daily warehouse handling and maintain a monthly storage spreadsheet
Control, order and monitor packing material inventory and give an accurate monthly report of all material
Process Daryl Flood Authority paperwork.
Assist with scheduling orders for local accounts.
Process goods received in warehouse.
Update warehouse storage records in the system.
Assist commercial teams in scheduling, routing crews and paperwork processing.
Provide operational support to the management team.
Attend Department Meetings to remain aware of business plans and their effect on warehouse operations
Assign daily workload to department employees and ensure they are being completed
Assist in the recruitment, interviewing and hiring of applicants
Review scheduling needs and ensure that crews are dispatched appropriately
Identify equipment needs, staffing and timelines for servicing client
Ensure that Company policies are adhered to, such as uniform and safety guidelines
Responsible for following and ensuring local security practices are enforced in order to deter theft
Assist in the Assignment of vehicles to local crew, ensuring that the vehicles are not damaged
Assist Workplace Services management with various tasks when deemed necessary
Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers
Establish, implement and enforce safe work practices.
Ensure that employee time records are kept up to date and ready for processing.

Education and Experience
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Four (4) year college degree in Business, Supply Chain Logistics, or related field preferred. Minimum of two (2) years' experience in the transportation, logistics, or related industry required. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Valid state driver's license
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word. Operates with a customer service mentality. Ability to manage time effectively and consistently meet deadlines. Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate flexibility and patience. Excellent organization, communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under minimal supervision and with a strong sense of self-motivation. Ability to sufficiently read, speak, and write English in order to understand and give directions, and to complete paperwork accurately. Ability to operate a variety of standard office equipment as dictated by the duties of the job and perform data entry and typing functions.
Physical Demands
Work is primarily performed in a climate controlled environment. Occasionally requires work performed in a non-climate controlled warehouse or outside environment. Requires sitting, walking, and standing. Occasionally requires bending and stooping. Occasionally requires standing and walking for long periods of time. Ability to lift and stack items weighing up to 30 pounds over head, and lift and stack items weighing up to 65 pounds to chest height and carry them a distance of fifty feet. Occasional ability to lift items weighing up to 150 pounds to a height of ten inches. Occasional ability to climb ladders, stairs, and ramps and perform generally heavy labor in various weather conditions and temperatures. Work performed requires the use of hands to control or feel objects and will utilize repetitive movements when entering data. Requires the use of clear speech communicated to others and understanding the speech of another person. Requires the ability to see details of objects within close range.
