For this effort, GDIT will use cloud-based concepts including IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service); PaaS (Platform as a Service); and SaaS (Software as a service) and containerization concepts including Terraform and Docker. Together, the application of these concepts will result in a Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC).
HOW A SYSTEMS E NGINEER ADVISOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
Architecting and maintaining software / infrastructure build, test, and deployment CI/CD pipelines
Working daily with Development teams to integrate security tool components via automated pipelines
Assisting with determining guidelines and standards for deploying to AWS Cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes environments, system and application security requirements, and developing security solutions
Educating teams on adoption of DevSecOps practices and tooling, and supporting those practices and tools
Creating, managing, and maintaining Pipelines, Data Integrations, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for our CI/CD pipelines and associated project-based deployments
Assisting teams with DevSecOps issues related to performance, configuration, or otherwise
Identifying and implementing improvements to how we securely build, deploy and monitor software projects
Helping create cloud and container infrastructure in a cost-efficient manner
Provide insight and guidance for the preparation and maintenance of all documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects
Perform continual maintenance and create solutions for security, backup and redundancy problems for security tools on Kubernetes
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
BA/BS Degree and 8+ years of experience or equivalent years of experience
DevOps/Cloud (AWS) experience
Security+ Certification
Experience with Kubernetes and Helm - deploying, maintaining, performance tuning, and troubleshooting K8S clusters
Experience with Software Engineering and Continuous Delivery and/or DevOps related practices
Experience with Git version control
Experience with Docker, containerization build technologies, and container registries
Experience with Ansible or shell scripting
Experience using Linux/Unix (CentOS or RedHat preferred)
Must be detail oriented, critical thinker, possess excellent problem-solving skills
Desire for continuous improvement and a commitment to best practices
Possess effective communication skills, especially in a team setting
Familiarity with government standards for security, identity, and data management

The likely salary range for this position is $165,750 - $224,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
