Department Mission Statement
The mission of Manufacturing Engineering is to establish manufacturing control through process development, creation of standard work, and cross functional collaboration to guarantee process safety and quality while supporting improved delivery through efficiency.
POSITION DETAILS
Position Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer will support the business in areas of new product development; process improvement; daily product support; manage key programs; technical authority in metal processes; analyze and interpret technical data (engineering drawings, specifications, purchase orders, etc.) and create shop routings, operations sheets, tools, and other necessary processes and equipment to produce a high-quality product.
Responsibilities
Define, maintain, and control the technical standards for use by Manufacturing Engineers
Define process control requirements and lead PFMEA activities
Support the growth of constructive relationships between all departments of the organization and globally.
Mentor and develop the technical abilities of other employees.
Evaluate complex manufacturing processes by applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials, conferring with suppliers, and soliciting observations from shop floor workforce
Participate in the evaluation, procurement, and start-up of new capital equipment with a focus on modern technology
Lead trouble shooting efforts on and off the shop floor in RCCM activities
Be the prime contact on high-level Manufacturing Engineering projects
Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing publications, establishing industry networks, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and/or participating in professional associations
When requested, take on a leadership role in CIRCOR Operating System (COS) activities
Achieve and hold government clearance as needed
Travel as needed, anticipated as less than 10% of working time
Provide manufacturing and manufacturability input for production planning, design, or repair
Update the ERP system with proper process routers and other manufacturing support information
Participate in or lead continuous improvement projects that support the Lean Manufacturing methodology such as SMED and Kaizen events
Engage with vendors to arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts to necessary specifications/quality standards and evaluate products according
Design layout of equipment and workspace to maximize efficiency
Takes initiative to solve complex engineering problems and coordinate with other functional areas as needed.
Produce comprehensive and complete engineering technical documentation.
Demonstrate effective communication (teleconference, email, and in-person) through interaction with customers (internal and external) regarding technical subject matter.
Lead continuous improvement activities.
Mentor junior manufacturing engineers.
Provide technical guidance to small and mid-size engineering project teams.
Regarded as a "Go-To" Technical Specialist.
Comply with all company policies/procedures.
Comply with all military and contractual requirements.

Extensive machining background in the production of close tolerance highly precision products involving various @types of metal allows. CAD/CAM experience with exposure in working with NX, Solid Works or Master Cam preferred.
Strong metal processing background, i.e., Heat Treating, Surface Finishing, Forging, Casting, etc.
Strong Project Management Skills.
Thorough knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, Project, Solidworks, CATIA and other applicable tools.
Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; develops alternative solutions; works well in group problem solving situations; presents ideas and information in a manner that gets others' attention; displays willingness to make decisions; exhibits sound and accurate judgment; supports and explains reasoning for decisions includes appropriate people in decision-making process.
Passion for data, analysis, trends, reporting and technology. Ability to read and interpret documents. Ability to write clearly and informatively routine reports, correspondence, and designs workflows and procedures. Presents numerical data effectively.
Demonstrated aptitude for process improvement and use of Lean and Six-Sigma resources and tools.
Education & Experience
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Industrial) from an accredited university.
At least 8 years of relevant Manufacturing Engineering experience preferred in a high precision manufacturing environment with high mix/low volume product rates.
