SciTec has an immediate opportunity for a talented Python Software Developer in Dayton, OH, to support programs focusing on missile defense missions. Our ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Python, thrive as part of a rapidly paced, collaborative, small-team environment consisting of Scientists, Engineers, and Developers, and be able to proto@type, develop, integrate, and test advanced software solutions.

Responsibilities

Work independently and with a team to develop high-quality software features aligned to project objectives

Assist in containerization, testing, and deployment of software for delivery to customers

Other duties as assigned

Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in the computer science or engineering

Strong proficiency in Python

Demonstrable understanding of principles related to software engineering

Commitment to quality in code and software engineering practices

Familiarity with design patterns, optimization, and performance

The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance

Good verbal and written communication skills

Familiarity with microservice architectures

Background in statistics

Detail oriented

Good verbal and written communication skills

Candidates who have any of the following skills will be preferred

An advanced degree in the physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer science

Familiarity with messaging technologies such as protobuf, ZMQ, Kafka, gRPC, REST APIs

Professional experience with DevOps processes and tools such as Docker, Jenkins, Gitlab-CI/CD

Experience with PostgreSQL,

Active DoD security clearance

The pay range for this position is $74,000-$106,000 / year. SciTec considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills. This is not a guarantee of compensation.
