Description
APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Apply best-in-class modeling and analytics techniques to enable rapid insights discovery for multiple business, cross functional teams and Senior Leadership Team (SLT). Lead analysis of business metrics, their interactions, and framework design on deep dive investigations. Monitor usage metrics, provide business-based explanations for large scale trends and patterns. Lead creation of self-serve analytics tools and data products to enable insights discovery at lightning speed and scale. Tools include creation of Jupyter Notebooks, programming in SQL, Python, and developing visualizations in Tableau. Automate and scale existing analysis methods. Develop and test machine learning models on small data size and then make them run at high speed on big data. Such process should be automated to run on a specified cadence without human intervention. Institute new approaches on modeling and analysis frameworks. This is accomplished by developing hypothesis and proposing statistical analysis techniques that can be used to detect patterns in the data, analyze trends, and relationships between different variables. Multiple methods are selected and then iterated upon to find the most optimal solution and develop insights. Design and evaluate experiments that help define opportunities for increased usage, improved marketplace performance and greater customer satisfaction. When engineering teams launch A/B test experiments they need data scientists to select samples and measure experiment performance to see if the effects observed were statistically significant. Skills needed are deep understanding of sampling and hypothesis testing techniques such as stratified sampling, power analysis, Minimum Detectable Effects, Significance testing, T-tests, z-tests, Chi squared Tests. Tools required are SQL and PySpark for data manipulation and high fluency with python libraries such as SciPy, StatsModels, Numpy, Pandas. Guide analytics on platform health, marketplace health, auction performance to drive product design strategies. Propose GTM and product changes backed by insights. Statistical analysis, model development and visualization of data to help understand how developers use Search Ads for app promotion. Hire and develop leading talent with proven, relevant data science skills. Motivate and ensure success for the team by defining roles and responsibilities that are clearly communicated, define and share a strategic vision for the function, established processes, and develop personal development plans. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $262,500 - $393,800/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Econometrics, Operations Research, Computer Engineering or related field and 5 years of progressive, post baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation.
5 years of experience with each of the following skills is required:
Use Statistical Data Analysis to select samples for A/B testing for experiment design, conduct power analysis for minimum detectable effects, measure test results significance testing during forward and holdback rollout periods.
Use Machine Learning Model development to create anomaly detection models for measuring volatility in business metrics.
Conduct ad-hoc analysis, root cause assessment and development of repeatable analysis with Python Programming
Develop SQL Queries for data manipulation
Develop Tableau Dashboard and underlying data models to support large scale applications
Design, develop and maintain Databases and Data-warehouses using Snowflake
Handle Big Data Model Automation and Optimization with tools like Airflow, PySpark and, Spark and Hive
