You will be joining our collaborative Data Science team which leverag es the most advanced technologies in machine learning and artificial intelligence to achieve the Deloitte Audit and Assurance vision of an AI-enabled audit. Some of our current projects focus on generative AI, prompt engineering, large language models, anomaly detection, clustering, and knowledge graphs.
Work You'll Do
As a Data Scientist, you will be supporting the Data Science group and actively participating in the entire lifecycle of a data science project, including exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, model creation, and model optimization to boost performance and accuracy. It is important that the person in this role is proactive and independent. You should be a problem solver with an open mind and an eagerness to pick up new skills.
Specifically, you will be expected to:
Develop, test, and deploy machine learning/AI models
Collaborate daily with Data Science Managers and Senior Data Scientists to receive guidance and feedback on your work to develop your skills and ensure alignment with workstream objectives
Be a contributor to the planning and direction of a project and effectively prioritize your tasks and objectives
Contribute to internal discussions on emerging machine learning methodologies
Regardless of project @type, your work will require:
Proficiency in verbal and written communication skills essential to interacting with clients and teams
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects/assignments/ responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
Problem solving and critical thinking skills in support of both innovative and operational enhancement opportunities

Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, machine learning, or statistics) or related field with relevant coursework
Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
Strong academic record, cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
You should reside within a commutable distance of your assigned office with the ability to commute daily, if required
You should expect to co-locate with team members or other colleagues in a Deloitte office, at a client site and/or virtually, based on specific team and business expectations
Ability to travel up to 10%, on average, based on the @type of work you perform and the clients served
Experience using Python and relevant libraries (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, etc.)
Coursework related to machine learning, deep learning, and programming
At least an introductory understanding of large language models and prompt engineering
Hands-on application experience using common machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenAI, and LangChain
Demonstrated ability to write high-quality code
Demonstrated ability to develop machine learning models
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Candidates must be at least 18 years of age at the time of employment
Preferred:
Master's degree in a quantitative field (computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, machine learning, or statistics)
Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or above
Relevant work experience or work experience in a professional environment (e.g. internships, summer positions, school jobs)
Demonstrated recent leadership, such as in a campus club, society, sports teams or other activity
Familiarity with the Microsoft Azure cloud-based ecosystem, including Azure DevOps
Familiarity with machine learning model development life cycles
Experience with version control practices and tools (Git, etc.)
Public AI-related projects you have developed available on GitHub

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $76,600 to $157,200.
