Job Summary:
The Ground Radars & Platforms Center within Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities seeks talented recent graduates to join our team as Systems Engineers supporting Integration, Verification, and Flight & Ground Test for an advanced Missile Defense Radar System.
We integrate hardware and software, develop test plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system interfaces and functions, and verify system requirements in support of final sell-off to our customers.
Every day has a different set of challenges to overcome. In this role you will perform various engineering activities depending on your experience and skill level. Whether in hardware, software, networking, or some combination of all three, you'll be stretched to learn about how our systems work and identify the sources of new and unexpected issues through lots of troubleshooting and data analysis. You will collaborate across disciplines and partners to implement solutions. You will get to know a little bit about every aspect of the system and have a direct hand in making it all work together while supporting teams of engineers engaged in integration and test efforts across the program.
This position is an onsite role in Huntsville, AL.
This position can be a Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Post Graduate Technical Intern based on the candidate's qualifications and standing as outlined below:
(Sophomore Technical Intern) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program and classified as a Sophomore by start of internship and provide proof of graduation prior to first day of employment
(Junior Technical Intern) - must be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program and classified as a Junior by start of internship and provide proof of graduation prior to first day of employment
(Senior Technical Intern)- must be enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program and classified as a Senior by start of internship and provide proof of graduation prior to first day of employment
(Post-Graduate Technical Intern) - must have an undergraduate degree and be enrolled in a graduate degree program (in degree fields listed in Qualifications You Must Have) by start of internship
What You Will Do
Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team
Support test planning and execution of Integration, Verification, or Ground/Flight Test activities in our labs, in the field, or at a test range
Support troubleshooting and failure data analyses, including root cause and corrective action processes and advanced use of lab or field test equipment
Complete detailed system performance analysis, including the use of analysis tools, such as MATLAB
Support test events, including flight test and field events, either in the US or internationally
Prepare and present results in reports and briefings to internal or external stakeholders
What You Will Learn
After completion of comprehensive on-the-job training, the candidate will be a part of a team supporting Systems Integration & Test activities across the product development lifecycle.
Qualifications You Must Have
This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor's (or higher) Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) degree program and will be at minimum, entering their Sophomore year by the start of summer 2026
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Exposure to troubleshooting technical issues with electronics in an academic or internship setting, or as part of a hobby
Experience with tools, such as MATLAB or Python, for data analysis and automation
Experience in systems, software, and/or integration & test
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience with data analysis, including the application of scripting or automation using tools such as MATLAB, Python, etc.
Experience with hands-on root cause identification, corrective action implementation and verification
Experience using DOORS or other requirements management tools
Experience support test events with radar systems, weapons systems, or command and control systems
Proficiency with commonly used test equipment, such as Oscilloscopes, Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, etc.
Experience with analysis of data sets, including the application of scripting or automation to analysis
Coursework in digital signal processing, algorithm development, electromagnetism
Exposure to Agile development
Current/Active DoD security clearance or SSBI

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
