Definition
We are looking to hire an IT Coordinator to support the Department of Public Service (DPS) initiatives in accordance with the City's technology guidelines. The duties of this position will include, but are not limited to, support for: software, hardware, and cloud-based services involving the management of upgrades, installation, and implementation strategies.
This role will also support Information and Business Systems strategic planning, support, and implementation, and will work with internal staff for organized tactical solutioning. The IT Coordinator should possess strong people skills, display strong technical skills and ability, along with being able to communicate both written and orally.

Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
Under direction, is responsible for coordinating the information technology requirements of the department with the provider capabilities of the Department of Technology; performs related duties as required.
Examples of Work
(Any one position may not include all of the duties listed, nor do the examples cover all of the duties that may be performed.)
Analyzes the business/operational needs of the department in order to facilitate the development and implementation of technology services provided by Department of Technology (DoT);
Consults with and advises the DoT representative(s) on the @type of systems and level of service required to meet the technology needs of the department;
Coordinates the prioritization of technology needs of the department to ensure compliance with the budget; assists in writing the service level agreements (SLAs) detailing the specific hardware, software, and technical service needs of the department;
Identifies and tracks the various technology related assets utilized by the department; coordinates with the DoT representative(s) the repair, upgrade, maintenance, and installation of technology assets, as provided in the service level agreement;
Provides information to the DoT representative(s) regarding problems with service levels, contracts, and/or the acquisition and availability of hardware and software components; communicates with selected vendors regarding service delivery;
Serves as the departmental representative at Department of Technology planning sessions regarding support services, processes and procedures, policies, and future technology and systems needs;
Plans and prepares information technology budget for the department for submission to the Department of Technology;
Coordinates training for department personnel on information technology and systems; prepares or assists in the procurement process, preparation of Requests for Proposal (RFP) and bid specifications for technology related items at the request of DoT;
Coordinates work flow between the departments and the Department of Technology; reads technical manuals and publications to remain current in information technology as it relates to departmental operations.
Attends information technology seminars, training, staff, and planning sessions.
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a bachelor's degree and three (3) years of experience in the analysis, development, and implementation of business processes or management information systems. A master's degree in computer science or a closely related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.
Some positions may require possession of a valid driver's license.
