Job Description

Join Olsson's Federal Engineering and Design Team as a Project Mechanical Engineer, where you'll lead mechanical design efforts for federal infrastructure projects including VA and medical facilities, DoD facilities, and other government buildings. You'll be part of a collaborative team delivering high-quality, efficient, and compliant mechanical systems that support critical federal missions.

Key Responsibilities

Lead mechanical design for federal projects, including HVAC, plumbing, and medical gas systems for healthcare and institutional facilities.

Apply knowledge of VA design standards, UFC, and IBC codes to ensure regulatory compliance.

Prepare detailed engineering documents, cost estimates, and design calculations.

Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical systems with architectural and structural components.

Support proposal development and participate in federal RFP responses.

Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

PE license required.

6+ years of experience in mechanical design, with strong preference for VA or healthcare facility experience.

Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and HVAC design software.

Familiarity with VA design standards and federal project delivery processes.

Strong communication and project coordination skills.
