JOB TITLE: Compliance Specialist
REPORTS TO: Quality Manager
RELATIONSHIPS: Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, Quality Assurance, Sales, Customer Service, Regulatory/Compliance Teams, Suppliers, External Laboratories, and Auditors
LOCATION: Elizabethtown, NC
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Compliance Specialist will support the organization's environmental and regulatory compliance programs with a focus on REACH, RoHS, and related global substance regulations. This role ensures that product compliance documentation is accurate, complete, and accessible, while working with suppliers, internal teams, and customers to meet regulatory and contractual requirements.
Primary Responsibilities
Manage and respond to compliance requests related to REACH, RoHS, Prop 65, Conflict Minerals, and other environmental regulations.
Collect, review, and maintain supplier declarations, material disclosures, and compliance certificates.
Support customers by providing accurate product compliance information and documentation in a timely manner.
Maintain compliance databases and tools to track regulatory requirements and product status.
Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to identify compliance risks and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
Monitor changes to global environmental regulations and communicate relevant updates to stakeholders.
Assist in developing and improving processes for compliance reporting and recordkeeping.
Support internal and external audits by providing compliance documentation and evidence as required.
Supports cross-functional initiatives and assists in other areas of the business as required to ensure overall compliance and operational effectiveness.
Qualifications
Education Requirement:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Required Experience:
2+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, quality, or supplier documentation roles.
Knowledge of REACH, RoHS, and other environmental product regulations.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and document control systems.
Desired Experience:
Experience with ERP or compliance management software.
Familiarity with global regulatory requirements beyond REACH/RoHS (e.g., Prop 65, Conflict Minerals).
Previous experience supporting customer or supplier compliance inquiries.
