Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Wilmington, Massachusetts. In this long-term contract role, you will play a pivotal part in managing billing, collections, and cash application processes while ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to financial operations in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and submit timely and accurate billings for government contracts.

Upload invoices to customer portals, ensuring adherence to specific client requirements.

Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies or disputes to maintain customer satisfaction.

Lead collection efforts to secure timely payments from customers.

Maintain detailed records of collection activities within the company's system.

Achieve or exceed monthly collection targets by closely monitoring receivables.

Post cash receipts to customer accounts efficiently and accurately.

Reconcile short payments and resolve discrepancies to ensure account accuracy.

Collaborate with internal teams to streamline financial processes and reporting.

Requirements - Proficiency in corporate tax, including sales tax and corporate tax returns.

Strong knowledge of journal entries and general ledger processes.

Experience with accounts payable (AP) operations.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and internal teams.

Familiarity with financial systems and software.

High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all financial activities.
