As a Senior Design Engineer , you'll be leading the concept, development, and integration of electrical harnesses, power cables, and electrical installation. This is a hands-on role based at the factory, where your designs come to life and you get to work directly with the machines you help create.

What You'll Do
Lead planning, scheduling, cost, and quality efforts for electrical installations on Drills.
Own and manage the electrical integration BOM structure and ensure seamless interaction with adjacent systems.
Design and refine wiring harnesses, power cables, and installation components using Creo and Creo SDP .
Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure manufacturability and lifecycle efficiency.
Review CAD models, drawings, and BOMs for accuracy and compliance with Caterpillar standards.
Drive New Product Introduction (NPI) deliverables including cost, velocity, reliability, and quality targets.
Support Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) by addressing feedback from Product Support and Manufacturing.
Troubleshoot electrical issues and support fit-ups and root cause investigations at the factory.
Translate functional requirements into detailed design documentation.
What skills you will have:
Technical Excellence: Experience in mechanical or electrical design - especially in harnesses and cable systems . Knowledge of electrical systems and schematics (Creo Schematic) is a plus. Experience in manufacturing and mining environments is highly desirable. Strong troubleshooting abilities and hands-on problem-solving.
Computer-Aided Design & Engineering: Proficiency in designing harnesses, cables, wiring assemblies, and installations using CAD tools - especially Creo Parametric - will distinguish you from other candidates. Experience with Vis View is desirable to help perform virtual checks and interpreted analysis results for electrical integration designs.
Product Design - MFG: Understands large equipment assembly and electrical component integration. Experienced with harness manufacturing and cost factors. Guides product development and ensures functional design. Reviews customer feedback to improve performance.
Analytical Thinking: Skilled in evaluating risks, costs, and success factors to solve complex problems. Uses the right tools and research to identify root causes and drive effective solutions.
Effective Communications: Strong communication and collaboration skills. Experience directing and reviewing work of other engineers is highly desired. Ability to work with global team members.
Managing Multiple Priorities: Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to shifting priorities. Resolves conflicts and maintains delivery timelines.
Product Design and Development: Experience in creating standards to improve product efficiency. Develops proto@types and validates concepts. Solves complex design challenges and advises on solutions.
Degree Requirement: Bachelor's degree in an accredited Engineering curriculum.
Additional Information:
This position requires the candidate to work full-time in the Denison, TX office.
Domestic relocation is available.
Occasional travel (10%) may be required to support activities at manufacturing and/or customer sites.

Summary Pay Range:
$110,520.00 - $165,840.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
