First-Time Dept. Supervisor

The First-Timer Department plays a vital role in welcoming new skiers and riders to the mountain. As Supervisor, you\'ll oversee daily operations, support and train staff, and ensure every guest\'s first experience on snow is safe, fun, and memorable. This is a seasonal, full-time position that requires close collaboration with multiple departments, including Frontline, KidsRule, Accounting, Rentals, and Ski Patrol. Reports To Snowsports School Director and Assistant Director and works closely with the School\'s Administrator. Responsibilities & Duties - Oversee all aspects of department operations, including staffing, lesson set-up, guest relations, and registration. - Use historical data to plan staff scheduling and meet guest needs effectively. - Provide training and guidance to staff, ensuring lesson content aligns with established standards. - Demonstrate a strong understanding of Snowsports teaching principles and communicate them clearly to both staff and guests. - Monitor and maintain departmental records, submitting reports as required by management. - Promote and maintain a safe environment for both staff and guests. - Ensure supplies are readily available for guest services, cashiers, and staff. - Lead by example through professionalism, punctuality, and appearance (proper uniform and name tag required). - Represent Jiminy Peak with pride - upholding the resort\'s mission, vision, and core values at all times. Minimum Qualifications - Prior teaching and leadership experience, with strong multitasking skills. - PSIA/AASI Level 1 certification preferred; CS1 certification a plus. - Ability to ski or ride comfortably on most of Jiminy\'s terrain. - Competency in computer applications, particularly for data reporting and record keeping. - Reliable transportation required.
