Salary Range: $51,163 - $60, 059, based on experience and demonstrated abilities. Benefits include paid holidays & leave time, NYS retirement, and health & dental insurance. Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing is expected to:

Ability to work with a diverse population of students.

Provide students with a safe, orderly environment that is conducive to teaching and learning.

Collaborate and consult with school organizations, community organizations, therapists, doctors, colleagues, parents regarding recommendations, modifications, and provide resources to meet student learning needs

Assist with troubleshooting of amplification equipment and other necessary software.

Communicate regularly and effectively with stakeholders.

Record and report student progress.

Job Qualifications

NYS Certification as Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing-Impaired. Required proficiency in Sign Language.

Candidates should possess a broad skill set of effective teaching and learning to engage learners of all levels including, but not limited to:

Knowledge of the NYS Learning Standards and Assessments

Knowledge of curriculum content and accepted methods of instruction.

Knowledge of up to date, available technology to use and teach students.

Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis, formulation of action plans

Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Promoting equity and culturally responsive practices to create inclusive environments.

Ability to travel between W-FL BOCES sites and component districts in this role shared between component school districts and/or Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES programs.
