Job Title: Entry-Level Insurance Administrator

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (with flexibility to work 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM shift 1-3 days/week based on team rotation)

Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Insurance Administrator to join our fast-paced team in Frederick, MD. This role is ideal for someone with administrative experience who is eager to grow within the medical insurance industry.

Key Responsibilities:

Obtain authorizations from payer case managers for services requested for referrals.

Document authorization details (effective dates, end dates, etc.) using internal systems.

Coordinate pre-certifications and communicate updates with branch locations.

Serve as a liaison between branch and payer, ensuring timely updates.

Access authorizations via email, phone, fax, or online portals.

Resolve customer inquiries respectfully and efficiently.

Independently problem-solve before escalating to supervisors.

Perform eligibility checks and other related administrative tasks.

Qualifications:

1-2 years of administrative experience in a high-productivity, fast-paced environment.

Interest in transitioning into the medical insurance industry.

Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel (must score 70%+ on basic Excel test; training available for those with foundational skills).

Strong computer skills and ability to navigate multiple programs simultaneously.

Comfortable using dual monitors and a laptop daily.

Exceptional attention to detail and data entry accuracy.

Ability to multi-task and meet quick turnaround times (some tasks require 1-hour response time).

Willingness to handle 90% back-office tasks and 10% phone-based follow-ups.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $19.00/hr.
