Summary:
Assists the Director of Radiology in the day-to-day technical operations of the department in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
The Lead CT Tech will work collaboratively with the Director of Radiology, medical staff, and administration to ensure that quality patient care is delivered.
Performs a variety of general imaging procedures. Will function as the first line interface with patients in the successful accomplishments of their imaging needs.
Participate in an on-call rotation to provide coverage for emergency needs outside of regular working hours. Holiday rotation required. Clinical coverage required.
Lead Tech will actively supervise the quality of care delivered to patients and participate in departmental QC and performance improvement activities.
CT Lead Technologist demonstrates routine accountabilities of a CT Technologist as referenced in the CT technologist job description accountabilities.
Responsibilities for the Lead Tech position include but are not limited to the following:
Assists Director of Radiology to organize and coordinate the daily services of the department. Sets appropriate priorities, uses time effectively.
Assists Director of Radiology with implementation of departmental policies and procedures that guide and support the provisions of services.
Demonstrates financial accountability. Provides input on cost savings and productivity enhancements.
Aids Radiologists, doctors and other UPHS team members in completing procedures according to applicable CT protocol.
Assists Director of Radiology in compliance with OSHA, TJC, DOH and other mandated safety procedures or regulations.
Responds to emergency situations according to department policies.
Communicates regularly with staff on progress toward defined goals/required results. Is open to suggestions and new ideas from staff. Provides specific feedback, coaching, and corrective actions when necessary.
Establishes and maintains good working relationships and partnerships within the facility and with outside customers of our services.
Exemplifies superior customer service skills and performs service recovery.
Foster teamwork around staff, engage employees in the decision-making process when appropriate and values diversity.
Displays sensitivity to the feelings of patients, customers, and staff members.
Provides timely, fact-based, construction and appreciative feedback in all directions.
Assist Director of Radiology with employee evaluations within the required time frame
Ensuring all daily technologists' duties (QA, phantom testing, 5-minute drill, temperature logs, and putting away of the supplies) are done daily
Proficient in departmental and hospital information technologies such as PACS, EPIC and job specific related areas.
Compiles and reviews images, provides applicable comparison studies, and prepares documentation for interpretation.
Takes personal ownership for understanding and meeting the needs of patients, fellow staff members and faculty to achieve UPHS' commitment to its patients, to education, and to research.
Maintains knowledge of inventory in the department.
Manage the workflow and ensure that all patients get their exams performed in a timely fashion
Adequately complete daily staffing schedule as well as monthly call schedules to meet the operational needs of the department
Responsible for overseeing the training of new hires.
Minimum Requirements:
Amer Registry Radiologic Tech (Required)
Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)
Radiologic Technologist (Required)
CT registered
H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
Graduated from an approved Radiologic Technology program (Required)
1+ years' experience in CT Technology or related medical imaging field- plus previous supervisory/team leader CT Technologist experience.
