Job Description

Insight Global's energy management client is looking for a Mechanical Engineer II to join their team in Houston, TX.

The Mechanical Engineer II works cross-functionally with a team to develop and execute tests for existing product designs and provide testing services to address customer needs. This position is fully immersed in our process which involves the development of testing procedures for rigorous testing and analysis activities that enhance design and understanding for their customers.

Day-to-day:

This person will spend 75% of their time designing, and 25% of their time in a laboratory

Provides guidance in design and assembly of KULR's innovative testbeds and testing apparatuses.

Data Processing: Collects, organizes, and processes engineering data from various sources, including simulations, tests, and experiments. Develop data analysis pipelines and use statistical methods to draw meaningful insights and conclusions.

Develops destructive and performance-based test procedures for materials, components, and assembled systems to validate design requirements.

Supports hazard analysis activities for incoming test requests and document safety protocols according to lawful compliance and industry best-practices.

Conducts destructive and performance-based test programs for both internal and customer-provided materials, components, and assembled systems.

Provides training for test apparatuses, data collection, data processing, and testing procedures.

Conducts analysis and tests to determine weaknesses and failures in proto@types or products.

Ensures the quality of KULR's testing facilities by performing critical maintenance activities.

Designs, develops, proto@types, and tests all aspects of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery.

Develops specifications for new parts or proto@types. Identifies appropriate materials and processes to ensure the quality, performance, and manufacturability of products.

Uses CAD software and other design and modeling tools to develop and improve parts and products.

Conducts analysis and tests to determine weaknesses and failures in proto@types or products.

Participates in cross-training as mutually agreed upon by the engineer and their supervisor to further support business needs.

Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.

Other job-related duties as assigned.

Skills and Requirements

MUST HAVES:

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field, required or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in related field.

Demonstrated experience in data processing, analysis, and visualization, preferably in an engineering @context.

Up to 10% travel to support testing, conferences, and customer engagement activities.

Familiarity with engineering software, such as Computer Assisted Design (CAD), Finite Elemental Analysis (FEA), or Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) tools.

Competence in Design Engineering, Review and Optimization to support design processes and lead design activities.

Competence in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mechanics and Prototyping for rapid design and effective implementation of iterative design practices.

Intermediate use of computers and Microsoft Office Suite Applications such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook.

Able to lift up to 25 pounds - Materials background

Battery, energy systems, or electrical prototyping experience

High level of ingenuity null
