Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

A growing engineering team is seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer/Designer with a strong background in designing and detailing components for manufacturing. This position is critical in supporting a fast-paced production environment by delivering accurate, efficient, and manufacturable designs for fabrication and assembly.

Responsibilities

Create fabrication drawings, flat-patterns, layouts, and detailed drawings for production.

Apply principles of form, fit, and function to develop components with speed and precision.

Assemble complete drawing packages, including installation instructions and sub-component views.

Design practical and manufacturable assemblies using input from samples, sketches, and engineering guidelines.

Build and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) using standard office tools or ERP platforms.

Document engineering processes and maintain standard work instructions.

Ensure all designs comply with drafting standards, industry regulations, and production needs.

Collaborate with internal teams such as production and purchasing to meet project deadlines.

Essential Skills

Proven experience in mechanical design for manufacturing.

Proficiency in CAD software and adherence to design standards.

Familiarity with ERP systems and BOM management.

Ability to work cross-functionally in a collaborative environment.

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

1+ year of experience with 3-5 years within a related industry (custom metal fabrication, power generation and energy, data center infrastructure, enclosure systems, etc).

Experience with sheet metal.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Sheet metal design and fabrication.

Background in custom manufacturing or job shop settings.

Integration of BOMs within ERP systems.

Outgoing personality and strong collaboration skills.

Work Environment

This position will be 80% behind a desk doing design work and 20% on the production floor. It is a 100% on-site role at the Batavia facility, with flexible hours as long as they are consistent and around standard business hours. The company is growing rapidly and is completely booked out through 2026, offering an excellent opportunity to be part of their expansion.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Batavia, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $120000.00/hr.
