Electrical QA Inspector

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a highly skilled Industrial Electrical QA/Inspector with a strong background in heavy construction to ensure the quality, safety, and compliance of electrical installations and systems on large-scale industrial projects. This is 5-6 days a week onsite, 40-60 hours depending on GC schedule. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in construction environments and a deep understanding of electrical codes and standards, including:

NFPA 70 - National Electrical Code (NEC)

NFPA 70E - Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace

NFPA 70B - Standard for Electrical Equipment Maintenance

OSHA Electrical Safety Standards (29 CFR 1910 Subpart S)

NEMA and UL standards for electrical equipment12

Day to day can include, but not limited to:

Conduct detailed inspections of electrical systems, installations, and components on industrial construction sites.

Verify compliance with NEC and other applicable codes and standards.

Review and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.

Perform testing using tools such as multimeters, insulation resistance testers, and thermal imaging cameras.

Document inspection results, non-conformances, and corrective actions.

Collaborate with general contractor and other trades onsite to resolve issues.

Monitor installation practices to ensure adherence to safety and quality protocols.

Support commissioning and turnover activities by validating system readiness.

Skills and Requirements

Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial electrical inspection and heavy construction.

In-depth knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC) and related standards.

Familiarity with OSHA regulations and electrical safety practices.

Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and construction documents. - Certification as a Certified Electrical Inspector (CEI) or Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) is preferred
